This website is not dead.By ZOMGxuan on 2008-07-09, 20:16:05
Nor is Pixelchase. I have been coding Pixelchase Enhanced, and all the basics have been done, including rotation, acceleration, friction, Oriented Bounding-box Collision Detection, and a nifty arrow which shows the direction you are heading in at the press of a button. I might upload a sample version if I have the time. Upcoming features include a menu (which I have not ported over to Enhanced), more original music, and NETWORK PLAY!!!
Yes, yes, you think I take awfully long time to program such a simple game. But I'm a student currently, and I have homework, so often I am too busy to program. By the way, some of you who use Linux may have had some trouble running pixelchase. Apparently you need the DUMB library as a dependency to get the game running. Download it from your package manager. As a solution to that problem, I have made Debian and Red Hat packages for Pixelchase classic, which include all the dependencies, and I will upload them as soon as possible.
Until then, don't look forward to seeing another post.
1.0 for WindowsBy ZOMGxuan on 2008-03-29, 13:08:38
Just another mundane update. Pixelchase Classic 1.0 for Windows is already on the downloads page. I will begin work on Pixelchase Enhanced soon, once I learn how to do pixel-perfect collision.
Pixelchase 1.0 is available for downloadBy ZOMGxuan on 2008-03-19, 00:13:00
Alas it finally has arrived, pixelchase 1.0 for...
Linux. Windows version will follow shortly. Oh, yes and my friend tells me that the Mac build does work on the Power Pc architecture, though with the same (upstream) bugs.
Now all of you can savour the game music I created, which is under Creative Commons btw, as is all game art (like the logo). I will put those things on the Downloads page at a later time too.
Downloads page is upBy ZOMGxuan on 2008-03-15, 00:58:26
As the title says. Pixelchase 1.0 is not yet uploaded for both versions. A (Intel) Mac version has actually been compiled with the help of my friend, but it appears that Allegro's timer functions don't work on it yet, so it is running at ub3r fast maximum sp33d, which is a bad thing. I will upload it one day to see if anyone can help.
The Site is Up!!!By ZOMGxuan on 2008-03-10, 19:49:49
Finally, after procrastinating and being bogged down by schoolwork for 2 months, the main page for the website is finished, with a news section of its own. The final version (1.0) of Pixelchase Classic is done (with proper music functionality) and will soon be available for download. If you have no idea what that last sentence was about, the first incarnation of Pixelchase is not the last, thats why its called Classic, and Pixelchase Enhanced will be ready by... June probably. Pixelchase 0.9 is still available for download for those of you who do not want the overhead created by playing the game music, but heck, it doesn't take up that much CPU anyway. The rest of the site will follow up soon, especially the downloads section. So, stay tuned.
